One of the Park’s aim is to restore back habitats for nature. These often begin with the removal of all sorts of rubbish. A lot of bulky rubbish, including construction waste, garden waste and tyres were removed from Għajn Żnuber, il-Prajjet, ix-Xagħra l-Ħamra, and the barracks.
These projects were made possible through the valuable assistance of the Ministry for the Environment, the Environmental and Resources Authority (ERA) and the general public, through the dedication of their free time during volunteering activities.
The Park is planning to eventually rehabilitate areas along Għajn Żnuber and il-Prajjet with native plants, creating a woodland. In 2019 the entrance to the Park at ix-Xagħra l-Ħamra was also cleared from dumping. This dumping took place several years ago. Here native trees were planted including the Sandarac.
