Yesterday, on Wednesday 25th August, WasteServ organized the eighth edition of the Malta Waste Reduction Awards, awarding those actions that best represented the theme of “Invisible Waste”.
Majjistral Nature and History Park took part in the European Week for Waste Reduction 2020, a European project coordinated by WasteServ Malta and Ecohive.
The Park ran a series of social media post to raise awareness on invisible waste. On top of that big clean up was organised at Irdum id-Delli in Cooperation with St. John Rescue Corps.
Over 800 kg of waste was airlifted from the lower cliff side of the site inside the Park. If you missed, you can see here.
Majjistral Nature and History Park won two awards in category:
- Best Practice in Associations
- Best Practice in Clean-Up Awareness Category
The Malta Waste Reduction Awards aim to inspire more people to become stewards of the environment in our fight to reduce waste, and to come up with actions promoting awareness-raising activities on sustainable resource and waste management.
