Majjistral Park open hours?

Majjistral Park is open 24/7.
Visitor center is open from Monday until Friday, from 9am until 3pm.
Currently the Visitor centre is closed due to the Corona virus situation.

Is the Park open for visitors free of charge?

Yes, access to the Majjistral Park is free of charge. The Park’s Visitor Centre is also free of charge.

How do I get to Majistral Park by bus?

Public Transport:     

The bus stop name is ‘Ferh’ (5 minute walk to the Park) and/or ‘Ghajn Tuffieha’ – the final bus stop (10 minute walk to the Park).
The bus numbers are:

Bus 44 from Valletta via Mosta
Bus 101 from Cirkewwa
Bus 225 from Sliema
Bus 223 from Bugibba

Do you need to apply for a permit to carry out an activity?

Permits are required for certain activities, please contact the Heritage Park Federation, Malta for further information.

Vehicular access to the Park is also restricted and subject to a permit by the Heritage Parks Federation.

How much does a permit cost?

Are cars permitted into the Park?

Only those with a permit can enter the Park with a vehicle. These permits are issued for agricultural access within the Park. More about read here.

Are BBQ`s allowed at Majjistral Park?

Only gas BBQ’s may be used within the Majjistral Nature and History Park and in restricted areas. Please contact us by email for further information.

Are dogs are allowed at Majjistral Park?

Yes. Dogs are allowed but must be kept on a leash so as to keep them under control, respect the law and other visitors to the Park.  An aggressive dog should be held on a muzzle at all times. Dog owners should also clean up after their dog. Dogs have to be walked only on the paths.

Are dogs are allowed at Golden Bay beach?

Yes, except from the beginning of June until the end of October.

Do you organize educational activities for schools, how much does it cost?

Yes.
Walks for the public are held mainly on weekends throughout the year (subject to a minimum number of 10 participants and maximum number of 30). Group bookings are also accepted and can be tailor-made to fit the group’s needs. Booking and information can be requested by emailing.

How much cost School Visits activities fee?

Practical information and activity fee:

School Visits (7-10 years old) : € 2.50
Students Visits (10+ years old) : € 5.00

Max number of students: 30
Min number: 10
Recommended age: 7 years+
Recomended meeting place and time: 9.30am at Il-Majjistral Park Visitor Centre.
Ends: 3hrs after at same place (unless a linear route is preferred).

Note: The walk will be postponed if it is too rainy as there is no shelter on site.

Do you organize Team Building activities?

The park offers a great variety of activities for team building events. These include:

  • Cleanups.
  • Tree Planting.
  • Olive Picking (Seasonal).
  • Rubble Wall Construction.
  • Control of alien plant species.

The Visitor Centre is furnished to cater for the company’s needs. These include refreshments, sound system, television screen and WIFI access points.
